Hi! Or as we say in the south, “Hey y’all!” This is where I tell you a little bit about myself. I grew up in southern Alabama, the youngest of three and the only girl. So, I spent my entire childhood trying to keep up with my big brothers and developed a love of the outdoors, especially fishing and water-skiing.
I began my interest in fitness training when I went off to college working out at the local gym. It was there that I met my future husband, Bob, who was heavily into body building. That is when I became more serious about weight lifting and other forms of exercise such as biking and running. We were so much into being fit that our wedding gift to each other was a Soloflex machine — so romantic. We’ve also done a few triathlons together.
After years of being in the corporate world, I was a CPA by trade, then staying home to be with my daughter, I decided to pursue becoming a personal trainer. In 2009 I received my certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and shortly afterward opened my own boutique fitness studio in Memphis, TN.
In 2014 my husband and I relocated back to southern Alabama, and this is when my interest in online training began to develop. I continued to train a handful of people as a traveling trainer, but after much research I realized I could help more people as an online trainer/coach.
My qualifications include:
- NASM Certified Personal Trainer
- Certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist
- Certified Online Trainer
- TRX Certified Trainer
- PaddleFit Coach
I get excited helping people work toward their goals of having a healthy, fit and active lifestyle. As a trainer I am my client’s coach and teammate, both leading and encouraging him/her to stay in the game, even when it gets difficult, so there is victory in the end.
